Syrians protest in Damascus
Syrian protestors continue to experience a backlash of violence at the hands of President Assad’s regime. Mass bombings by the Syrian government in cities such as Homs are indiscriminately killing and wounding men, women, and children. With limited international support and deep divisions among the Syrian opposition, Syrian protestors have made little headway in their struggle for a political voice. As of July 2012, over 17 thousand Syrians have been killed since the revolt broke out in Syria. With no indication from the government in Damascus that the violence will end any time soon, pro-democracy activists in Syria and their families are in need of our help.
